Real to Reel ’25
Documentary Southeast will give audiences their first taste of what’s ahead for the center through Real to Reel ’25—six consecutive weekends of film programming, beginning Oct. 10.
Unlike traditional film festivals, Real to Reel features a unique structure. Each of the six curated programs will screen over one weekend—Friday and Saturday evenings, with pay-what-you can Sunday matinees—maximizing viewing opportunities in the 80-seat house at Mars Landing Galleries. Opening weekend is Oct. 10-12, with the closing program Nov. 14-16.
Films will range short to feature-length documentaries, with works by Western North Carolina filmmakers mixed and paired with films by makers around the country. Most weekends will feature conversations between visiting filmmakers and Documentary Southeast director Matt Peiken, along with our audience.
Documentary Southeast will post details and open ticket sales of the inaugural Real to Reel program this summer. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates on Real to Reel ‘25 and all things Documentary Southeast.
